Challenge Identified – Solution Delivered
The project involved combining several units on different levels within an existing space. The exceptionally high ceilings and the lack of storage and waste disposal areas posed additional logistical challenges. In addition, a suitable sewer connection first had to be located and installed. The center’s existing HVAC system proved inadequate for use as a fitness studio and required special attention.
As general contractor, we handled all finishing work, including flooring, wall, and ceiling work, electrical installations, as well as HVAC, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems, in addition to project and construction management. To level the varying floor heights, extensive leveling measures were implemented. For the technical infrastructure, we carried out targeted core drilling and routed piping all the way to the underground parking garage and adjacent basement areas. The cross-sections of the new pipes were optimally dimensioned to best meet the requirements of the fitness facility. Due to a lack of storage space, construction site logistics were handled via direct delivery and removal, ensuring a smooth construction process.
The gym opened on schedule and has been very well received by its members. Its location, with numerous apartments in the immediate vicinity, has proven to be ideal and underscores the project’s long-term success.
